(Cera alba) is a natural wax produced by honeybees. It is virtually insoluble in water and therefore protects sensitive skin from moisture loss. Beeswax was already known in ancient times in skin care almost 2,000 years ago, and its softening properties were valued.
is pharmaceutical lanolin oil of exceptional purity and the highest quality. Medilan is biomimetic, meaning it perfectly matches the natural structures of the epidermis, enabling optimal skin care. It is thus able to compensate for skin deficiencies and repair skin damage. It effectively strengthens the skin barrier and increases skin moisture levels.
are traditionally used for eye compresses and eye baths. The extract from the deep blue blossoms of the cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) has a soothing and moisturizing effect.
is obtained by cold-pressing the chestnut-like stone fruits of the evergreen tree (Macadamia ternifolia). The light-yellow oil is characterized by a high content of palmitoleic acid. This rare fatty acid promotes the oil's absorption and ensures good spreadability. Because its fatty acid composition is similar to human sebum, macadamia nut oil is ideal for dry, chapped, and sensitive skin. It has a skin-smoothing, softening, and regenerating effect.
It is obtained by pressing the seeds of the foxglove-like sesame plant (Sesamum indicum), which contain approximately 50% oil. Sesame oil is light yellow, almost odorless, and mild in flavor. It has a high content of essential linoleic acid and, thanks to the active ingredient sesame oil, is a natural antioxidant.
is a colorless, odorless oily liquid derived from olive oil. Squalane, in its unsaturated form (squalene), is an essential component of the skin's natural hydrolipid film and is therefore particularly skin-friendly. We use the saturated form, which is resistant to oxidation and heat. Squalane has moisturizing properties, spreads well, meaning it is very easy to apply, and provides a silky skin feel. Because of its rapid absorption, it acts as a guide for other active ingredients into the skin.
is a polysaccharide and a natural component of connective tissue. It has a skin-tightening and smoothing effect. We only use hyaluronic acid that has been produced using biotechnology. Dissolved in water, hyaluronic acid forms a gel-like structure that lies on the skin as a thin film and bonds with the skin's ceramides via hydrogen bonds. In this way, hyaluronic acid can bind very large amounts of water in the stratum corneum and only releases it after several hours – thus creating a hydrating depot effect. With increasing age, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid steadily decreases. The skin loses its elasticity, and lines and wrinkles form. Skincare products containing hyaluronic acid can balance out or reduce these skin changes.
It is a component of the skin's own Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) and has an effective hydrating effect. It has excellent moisturizing properties while simultaneously stabilizing the skin's barrier function. We use plant-based glycerin.
is an extract from the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, which is cultivated in special cultures. Dermochlorella is a recognized source of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids. The extract helps the skin maintain its natural balance and acts as a repair and vitality activator.
This unique active complex of marine origin combines three red sea algae: coral moss (Corallina officinalis), twisted starweed (Gigartina stellata), and elkhorn seamoss (Kappaphycus alvarezii). Twisted starweed and elkhorn seamoss provide valuable sulfated polysaccharides. The coral moss is rich in minerals, especially calcium. ALGYL® sustainably strengthens the regeneration and maintenance of an intact skin barrier. The skin's own immune system is optimized, and protection against free radicals is significantly improved. The result: Transepidermal water loss (TEWL) decreases, and the skin is protected and more resistant to negative external influences.
